OMG, What should I do about my Dad's harddrive?!?

I'm freakingout over this >.< But my dad brought a hard drive thing (the ones that store lots. It isn't a little stick or anything, I'm talking about the big expensive ones) and he's had it a while but when I needed a USB, he said "use this", so I used it and then removed my files. A few weeks ago, I was looking around and I found it. I used it in my laptop but I forgot to press the on to safely remove the hardware, and now its totally corrupted and it won't load on my laptops or anything. My dad spent about �300 on it, and I know for a fact if I broke it, he would shout and would NEVER trust me again - this is due to me breaking "everything he owns" and "not looking after stuff". I really don't know what to do, should I keep on hiding it? But I'm thinking here, should I just put it into my 360 and then wipe it? I've tried seven programs that were supposed to recover deleted and corrupted files from USB's an hard drives but nothing works >.< If I hide it, I suppose he might think he lost it for a while then ask me where it is, then find it and be really angry that I hid it - but then again, I break everything!!! So, what should I do? If I hide it, he might blame his friends (its happened before with his gold jewellery; turns out he just put it down the side of the bed...) or something! Please, please answer, I really need help. Should I just wipe it?? Should I show him and have all my stuff taken off me? Should I just hide it until he buys a new one and he's forgotten about this one?? PLEASE HELP; My dad will be so angry if he finds out, and if you tell me to tell him; then show me proof that your dad is the same as mine and you've done this before! I'm worried he'll be super angry with me and take away my games (though, he actually isn't allowed to take the Xbox 360, because my Nan brought it, and he won't be able to take my laptop, Nan brought it, an he won't take my phone - Nan brought it)!! I'm worried, BUT if you MUST know, I've been hiding it for about a month-three months at most-and he hasn't noticed that its gone, but we're moving house soon and if he suddenly thinks "Hmm, wheres my hard-drive??" then he's gonna immediately ask me, seeing as he knows I break everything and I FAIL at lying, I don't lie... But if I have to hide it, and he asks me, I simply say I dunno, but gah! You've heard enough of my ranting, thanks all the same <3
