Can you make yourself like/ fall in love with someone?

I am always attracted to powerful men and a-- holes. My last boyfriend of seven years was a doctor and the epitome of an over confident jerk. I've since met a guy who is sweet as pie. He's tall, handsome, intelligent, articulate, a deep thinker and he is smitten by me. However, physically, I'm not as attracted to him as I think I should be if I were to get into a serious relationship with him. He has a LOT of good things going on for himself (and I'm not even talking about money), including recognition as an "up and coming young leader" by a national magazine. He is making a difference, he knows a lot of movers and shakers in the city where I live, but the thing I don't like about him is that he's a dork-- a comic book reading, Star Trek watching dork. He even smirks and pushes up his gles on his face like Urkel. It kinda turns me off a bit. Has anyone ever met a great guy/girl you liked and were able to just overlook something about them that turned you off? Like an annoying laugh or something else that you couldn't change about them? I just wonder if I can make myself get over it because he's so good for me and I'd hate to let him go because his dorkiness turns me off.
