How many hours in a day do i need to have my UV Sterilizer lamp on?

I have a Jebo 11 watt uv sterilizer for my 36 gallon reef tank and was wondering how many hours in a day can the lamp on the uv be on? I started to have green slime on the inside of my water tube that connected the UV.
