What is the price range for a 1974 super beetle?

A man is selling a 1974 Super Beetle fully restored no rust, new engine for $6,500. My father who is very good with cars (but not with prices lol) thinks it's a lot. He owned a beetle when he was young as well. Ive looked around and it seems like it should be more in the $4,000 range. Is this overpriced or not?
