Whats the point of trying in life if were all going to die soon?

I'm 19, and have a firm belief that we will all die in 2012. So why should I waste the last few years of my life going to school if i'm going to die. It doesn't make sense. I graduated and have a job, and if the 2012 thing doesn't happen, I still see no reason to try hard since were still going to die from either global warming, a meator, war, famine, disease, ect. within 10 years.
