How long after your first consultation with an orthodontist do you get braces?

I think it depends on your age and cirstance. For example if you're 16 or under there might not be as much a rush as there is for someone a lot older whos mouth is harder to fix? I'm 17 in a week I got braces yesterday after a months wait prior the consultation but for my younger sister it was longer. Cirstance-wise all they had to do for me was put in the rubber bands a week before to space the teeth to fit the molar things with the brace. However if you need teeth extracting etc it could be a few months? It all depends. Good luck :)
