Im trying to Figure out the year of my Mexican Fender Stratocaster!!!! Serial Number : MZ9438060?

I think you have an extra digit in your serial number posting. The "MZ" clifications started in 2000 with "MZ0" and went to "MZ1" in 2001 and "MZ2" in 2002 and so on. These first three digits denote the location and year the instrument was manufactured and the serial number that follows it should only be an additional 5 digits...you have 6 digits. If the "9" was keyed in error and your serial is MZ438060, your guitar was made between 2004 and 2005 in Ensenada, Mexico.
